Chatter is part of the ongoing WIPEOUT Series, which explores the disorienting beauty of underwater moments during a surfing wipeout. In this large-scale work, layers of color and mark-making mimic the fractured noise and turbulence of water moving in every direction—soundless but overwhelming.

The title references the physical and mental “chatter” that arises in moments of chaos—internal noise meeting external force. This painting captures the push and pull between surrender and resistance, stillness and disruption.

Painted with Yin Min Blue, a modern pigment prized for its purity and intensity, the work channels depth and silence with luminous, almost electric energy. It’s a study in resilience, stillness, and the unknown.
