Aloha, I’m Bailey — the creative behind Summer Swell Studio. I’m a Hawai‘i-based artist and surface pattern designer inspired by the transformative power of water.
After being displaced during the 2018 Kīlauea eruption, I found healing in the ocean—an experience that shaped my creative philosophy, rooted in Blue Mind: the idea that water fosters emotional well-being, resilience, and connection.
Through bold color, layered texture, and abstract organic forms, I explore water as both subject and metaphor. Whether painting or creating surface patterns, my work honors flow, movement, and the natural rhythms that connect us.
Today, I continue to explore water as both subject and metaphor across fine art and applied design. My surface patterns evolve from original paintings and hand-drawn motifs, blending personal narrative with coastal inspiration. Whether on canvas or on the computer, my work celebrates connection, impermanence, and the rhythms of nature.
